Alphabetical Order supports underprivileged children at the Collège des Frères Mont La Salle, through grants and tuition fee subsidies. Our work with the school’s students and their families facing hardship began with the start of the 2021-2022 academic year. We are conscious of the critical importance of the task that lies ahead as we work to secure grant funding for the children. In the current disastrous economic circumstances, many families of students at the school are in need of support. Our volunteers are working around the clock to raise funds to safeguard the future of these children.

In Lebanon, hundreds of thousands of schoolchildren may soon be forced to drop out of school as poverty struck families can no longer afford the cost of education following the economic collapse of their country. This is an unprecedented catastrophe in a country that until recently prided itself on the quality of its education.

We strongly believe that education is the only effective way out of poverty. It is integral as it transforms the fabric of society, promotes free will and independent thinking and brings about improved social and economic wellbeing.

About the School

Collège des Frères Mont la Salle, founded according to the ministerial decree N ° 4004 of September 25, 1972, is an educational institution that welcomes students from all social and cultural backgrounds.

Being a trilingual school, the institution’s teaching is rooted particularly in the Arab and French culture, while still putting high emphasis on the English Language. This is especially proven by the important number of students who are regularly admitted to continue their studies at English-speaking universities.

Today, the Collège des Frères Mont La Salle is accredited by the French Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research. It now offers all grade levels, up to the Lebanese and French Baccalaureates, as well as technical education in electronics, computer science and accounting, with more than 250 teachers and 2,800 students.

During these difficult times, paying school fees is no longer the priority of many parents who are barely making ends meet. Yet, the Collège des Frères Mont La Salle stands by the fact that no student will be let go for financial reasons. Indeed, the strategy, applied for many years at Mont La Salle, is based on the conviction that the school will not let go of any student if their parents cannot afford to pay their school fees. This strategy further emphasizes the vocation of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools.
However, support is needed in order to proceed with this educational mission and thus not deprive any student of an education that could secure them a better future.

How we work
Our teams work to identify and manage education based projects serving lower-income families across the country. We work with these families, students, schools and other stakeholders to advance education in Lebanon.
