Alphabetical Order supports underprivileged children at Collège Notre Dame De L’Assomption – Ablah, through grants and tuition fee subsidies. Our work with the school’s students and their families facing hardship began with the start of the 2021-2022 academic year. We are conscious of the critical importance of the task that lies ahead as we work to secure grant funding for the children. In the current disastrous economic circumstances, many families of students at the school are in need of support. Our volunteers are working around the clock to raise funds to safeguard the future of these children.

In Lebanon, hundreds of thousands of schoolchildren may be forced to drop out of school as poverty struck families can no longer afford the cost of education following the economic collapse of the country. This is an unprecedented catastrophe in a country that until recently prided itself on the quality of its education.

We strongly believe that education is the only effective way out of poverty. It is integral as it transforms the fabric of society, promotes free will and independent thinking and brings about improved social and economic wellbeing.

About the School

“Collège Notre Dame De L’Assomption

Our Lady College of Assumption – ABLAH:

A Historical Overview
Located in Ablah, Bekaa, Our Lady College of Assumption was founded by the Congregation of Salvatorian Sisters in 1952. It started as a small community, free of charge elementary school providing education to children living in Ablah. The school later expanded to include Intermediate and Secondary campuses and has since been attended by children living in Ablah and neighbouring areas. With the eruption of the economic crisis in Lebanon in 2019, the school was compelled to close its Secondary campus.
Currently, the school principal is Sister Laurice Raad and the teaching staff includes 21 experienced teachers and 8 employees who carry out the services the school needs to operate.

Collège Notre Dame De L’Assomption Secondary school provides top-notch education to 306 male and female students of various religious affiliations and social backgrounds. Yet, the majority of parents are either farmers or self–employed. An atmosphere of solidarity and cooperation reigns in Our Lady College of Assumption where students compete and strive for excellence not only in their school studies but also in the Lebanese Official Exams.”

From the outset we’ve provided photos and GPS coordinates for every Alphabetical Order project. You can find all project details on the map above.
